We always want to innovate, to protect the biodiversity of our territory and provide you new quality products. Start growing saffron is for us a new challenge, but we like it and saffron that we cultivate on our farm will soon become a valuable ingredient in the kitchen of our restaurant, it will be used to flavor our raw milk pecorino cheese and of course can be purchased in our store.

How to cultivate saffron?
Saffron is obtained from three small pistils in the plant corolla crocus sativus. In order to produce just 1 gram saffron, we collect 150 flowers before sunrise, and spend many hours of manual labor separating and drying the pistils.
Saffron has extraordinary concentration of vitamins, minerals, and elements. It strengthens the immune system, protects the body from viruses, stimulates digestion, supports liver health, and helps to prevent the development of cancer and degenerative diseases. Saffron also protects the heart, its arteries, and respiratory system. Other benefits include the reduction of menstral pain, hightened concentration, depression mitigation, and relief from toothaches.
How to use saffron
Saffron is used in both sweet and savory recipes and beverages. Just put three pistils per serving in one cup of warm water or milk, let stand for 10 minutes, and add the liquid to the dish you are preparing: barely, rice, pasta, vegetables, eggs, pastries and much more.
