Discovering Val d’Orcia Flavour: Good, Clean, Fair, these are the three fundamental principles of Slow Food, the three magic words that contain our philosophy. It was with this spirit we held the wonderful day “Discovering Val d’Orcia Flavours: Grape Harvest Fest”, the second event of a series promoted by Slow Food Montepulcian-Chiusi. Discovering Val d’Orcia Flavours allows all of you to personally know the producers and of course enjoy their excellent products.

Our events are always held in respect of the seasonality of local productions and this time we celebrated the grape harvest and the DOC Orcia wines by Marco Capitoni. We want to thank all those who participated and who had the opportunity to visit the winery Marco Capitoni seeing the first wine-making operations.
After a lovely walk through the vineyards we have set up a real banquet of the harvest, as it was once! Many local producers have offered their products: organic apples by Fontecornino, pasta and stone milled flours by Mulino Val d’Orcia, Cinta Senese cured meats by Azienda Agricola il Poggio, artisan ice cream by Gelateria Buongusto and of course raw-milk cheese by Podere il Casale.
But the real stars of the day were the wines of Marco Capitoni tasted in the beautiful crystal glasses Cristalleria Moleria La Grotta del Cristallo.
