The jack depicted on our wine label indicates a wine suitable for everyday dishes. Our Fante Toscana I.G.T 2019 has a soft purple and ruby color. The nose shows some beautiful violet and red fruit and notes of pomegranate and fresh plum. The body is intense, but without overwhelming tannin and it is accompanied by a pleasantly fruity finish. A wine that shows great “drinkability” and pleasantness.
The vinification had a 25-day maceration of contact with the skins, a soft pressing and a spontaneous malolactic fermentation. All yeasts are indigenous. No clarification treatment, small addition of sulfur dioxide were applied before bottling.
The vinyards have more than 30 years of age and are bred with spurred cordon. The terroir is mostly clayey with pebbly soils and a good presence of limestone. The average production per hectare is about 30 quintals. Our Fante 2019 is made of Sangiovese variety and a tiny little bit of Canaiolo, all material of massal origin and not clonal. The management of the vineyards is organic and follows the practices and principles of biodynamic agriculture.
Pairings: medium-aged cheeses, raw and cooked meats, croutons with oil and vegetables. Never with sweets. Avoid artichokes and foods full of tannins!
