The organic farm Podere Il Casale was founded and grows in the heart of the Val d’Orcia.

The clayey lands of our valley are not particularly fertile, but the hard work of many farmers has made it suitable for both agriculture and farming.

It is precisely because of the people’s constant dedication to this territory and its pristine landscape that the Val d’Orcia, with its rolling hills and mount Amiata overlooking the valley, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. It then was and still is the favourite location of many tourists as well as film directors of international fame.

The Val d’Orcia, with its historic Via Francigena, is home to several environmental wonders. A few kilometers from the farm you can visit the enchanting Renaissance town of Pienza, where shepherds produced the first Pecorino di Pienza.

Not far away from Pienza are the vineyards where some of the most famous wines in the world come from: Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti Classico.

There are also many medieval hamlets, including Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo, famous for their precious thermal waters and natural pools to enjoy a day of pure relaxation.

Podere Il Casale is the ideal starting point to reach the internationally famous cities of art of Siena and Florence on a day trip. However, the best memory that our guests carry home with them is the feeling of peace and freedom they enjoyed during their stay in this valley, as well as the genuine taste of our organic products.
